Sheikh Ali Bapir attended the joint meeting of the Kurdistan Region’s three Presidencies of and Kurdish political parties

 

Sheikh Ali Bapir, the Chair of Kurdistan Islamic Group (Komal) joined the high-level meeting of the Kurdistan’s three Presidencies and The head of Kurdish political parties on Monday, the 24th of February 2020 in Erbil.

The meeting shed light on political atmosphere of Iraq, the conflicts of the wider area, the latest developments and their overall impacts on Kurdistan region.

A statement was issued by the Kurdistan Region’s Presidency following the meeting. According to the statement, the summit addressed the outcomes of the latest visit made by a delegation of the Kurdish political parties to Baghdad and their face-to-face negotiations over the formation of the new Iraqi cabinet with the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tofiq Allawi.

The Kurdish political figures expressed their position on the formation of new Iraqi cabinet in five points. “We support a new government that possesses the ability to solve the current issues across Iraq, makes serious efforts to restore stability and enjoys the trust of all communities in the country.” read the statement.

The Kurdistan’s three Presidencies and Kurdish political parties express their deep concern regarding the recent steps taken by the Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Allawi to form his cabinet since his latest course of action did not pave the way for gaining the trust of Iraqi communities and parties. They call on Allawi to revise his procedures for the cabinet formation in a way that the future government will address the demands of all ethnic and religious communities across Iraq.
